Winter Skin Care

            Chapped lips, chapped hands--winter is hard on everyone's skin! Herbalist Iris Weaver will discuss basics of skin care for the winter, including useful herbs and nutrition. Natural Dyeing: Silk Scarves

            Using the ancient art of natural dyeing with plants, you will dye 5 silk scarves in your choice of shades of  red, pink, orange, yellow, or purple. Wonderful added texture and pattern will be achieved by using tie-dye and bound-resist techniques.You’ll learn the basics of natural dyeing and gain an understanding of the astonishing array of colors that can be achieved by the use of a few simple chemicals such as alum and iron. This process is gentle on the environment and colors are gorgeous and soothing to the eye and the soul.  Please bring a pair of rubber gloves and 5 clean plastic bags for carrying home your scarves.

            Herbal remedies are simple to make and use! Come to a hands-on workshop to learn about herbal tinctures, vinegars, and more. Learn what various herbal remedies are and how to use them.
